I have a few questions to ask. Ive recently purchased a Nuffield 460.

1) Not sure on the year as i dont know where the year is on the tractor? 2) I checked the gearbox oil and the dipstick showed full but the oil is white. Should I be worried? 3) The steering is worn, and have had the front wheels wobble badly.

Whats the best plan of attack.e. Baja Ds650 Manual download on this page. g. Should i tighten the steering box? 4) (MAIN CONCERN AT THE MOMENT) Im a bit worried about the clutch adjustment. The tractor drives great and changes great however the take up/ off is very much at the end of its travel.

Hope some know more than me, and can help. Hi 460FSB, welcome to the forum. I'm sure Rick will assist with a few bits, but here are a few answers below.

Rick is very good at chassis numbers, so he'll be able to assist with this. Very common on Nuffields (and most old tractors to be fair). This is usually due to condensation in the gearbox or rainwater leaking in through the gearstick joint. Nothing to be too worried about, but worth changing the oil (super universal tractor oil is best) sooner rather than later. Rick has provided some advice on recycling oil here. download free Kubota G1800 Diesel Owner Manual. I would advise sorting the issues out in the first instance (joints, bearings, king pins etc). Nuffields are also prone to wear on the trunion pin and the axle itself (the pin that holds the axle to the chassis).
